Every sample row on this page comes from a real run on October 1–2, 2026. The run ID is given with each one.
A lot of useful business data is public but hard to use. Each source has its own search page, built to show one record at a time to a person, not a clean list to a program. This page covers nine of these sources. For each one it shows what the data is, who uses it, a real record, an input that works, and what to watch out for. Each tool returns JSON, CSV or Excel, can run on a schedule, and bills per result delivered.
Looking for startup funding rounds, Form D filings or Y Combinator companies? Those have their own guide: startup funding data from public sources.
1. SEC Form ADV: registered investment advisers
Every SEC-registered investment adviser files Form ADV. It says who the firm is, how much it manages, where it operates and how it is paid. The SEC’s adviser search shows one firm at a time. Sales teams at custodians, fintechs and asset managers want lists instead: every adviser in Texas above $100M, say. Compliance teams check registration status and CRD numbers.
Real record from run EuEk9KuFtZBDsApTK (California, $100M–$1B):

"has_custody": true
}Input: {"state_filter": "CA", "min_aum": 100000000, "max_aum": 1000000000, "max_firms": 25}. AUM is regulatory assets under management as reported on the form, so it can be months old: check last_filing_date. Tool: SEC Form ADV Tracker.
2. EU trade marks (EUIPO)
EU trade mark applications and registrations are public through EUIPO and the TMview network. Trademark attorneys use them to clear a name before filing and to watch for conflicting filings. Brand teams track competitors’ portfolios.
Real record from run F7cq4Dp6eupdjDGRz (search “Acme”, EU office):
{
"mark_name": "ACME",
"mark_type": "Figurative",
"application_number": "001859693",
"applicant_name": "J HUDSON & CO (WHISTLES) LIMITED",

"status": "Registered",
"nice_classes": [9],
"clearance_risk": "High"
}Input: {"query": "Acme", "offices": ["EM"], "maxResults": 25}. The clearance_risk field is the tool’s own rough signal based on name similarity and status. It is not legal advice, so have a professional review real clearance work. Tool: EUIPO Trademark Search.
3. US trade marks (USPTO)
The same jobs apply in the US: clearance before a launch, watching owners, and checking whether a mark is live or dead. How the tool gets the data depends on what you search by. A lookup by serial or registration number comes from the USPTO’s own TSDR system. A search by brand name goes through the TMview network, which carries the US register.
Real record from run qfKQaXcJUu6YDdahL (name search “Acme”, US):
{
"mark": "ACME",
"owner": "Manson, Joel D.",
"serial_number": "76533541",
"status": "Expired",
"filing_date": "2003-07-30",
"class": ["34"],
"trademark_type": "Word",
"office": "US"
}Input: {"query": "Acme", "searchType": "name", "territories": ["US"], "maxResults": 25}. If the US register returns fewer marks than you asked for, the tool fills the rest from IP Australia. Check the office field on each row. Tool: Trademark Search.
4. Press releases (PR Newswire)
Press releases are a running feed of launches, contracts, earnings and executive moves. Investor relations teams watch peers, analysts watch sectors, and PR agencies track clients. The site is built for reading, and its RSS feeds drop most of the fields.
Real record from run QtmT2nsgW31Q7hwN3 (latest releases, no keyword):
{
"issuer": "CaseBioscience Inc.",
"title": "CaseBioscience® Joins Team Awarded Up to $7.3 Million by ARPA-H to Advance Ambient Preservation of Cell Therapies",

}Input: {"keyword": "your company or topic", "maxReleases": 50, "includeFullBody": false}. Turn on includeFullBody only when you need the full text, because it makes runs longer. Tool: PR Newswire Scraper.
5. Job postings (LinkedIn, no login)
Job postings show where a company is investing before it says so publicly. Recruiters, competitive-intelligence teams and sales teams pull them by keyword and location.
Real record from run GuUFuqQq4qAnbcFBY (keyword “python developer”):
{
"job_title": "Senior Software Engineer - Python",
"company_name": "Venmo",
"posted_date": "2026-10-01",
"job_type": "Not specified"
}Input: {"keywords": "python developer", "location": "", "maxResults": 200, "fetchDescriptions": true}. Results are not limited to new postings. The same run also returned a posting dated July 8, so filter on posted_date if you only want recent jobs. Tool: LinkedIn Jobs Scraper.
6. Search interest (Google Trends)
Google Trends shows how interest in a search term rises and falls, and which related searches are climbing. Marketers time campaigns with it, product teams size demand, and analysts compare brands.
Real record from run 3WwH31tQ8XgkBRq1E (“apify”, US, past 12 months):
{
"keyword": "apify",
"geo": "US",
"timeframe": "today 12-m",
"average_interest": 51.4,
"peak_interest": 91,
"peak_date": "2026-06-07",

"latest_date": "2026-09-27",
"related_queries_top": [{"query": "apify scraper", "value": 100}, {"query": "apify api", "value": 61}]
}Input: {"keywords": ["apify", "web scraping"], "geo": "US", "timeframe": "today 12-m"}. Interest is relative, on a 0–100 scale within the query, not a count of searches. Keywords in the same run are scaled together, so compare them within one run, not across runs. Tool: Google Trends Scraper.
7. Contact details from a list of websites
Given a list of company websites, this pulls the emails, phone numbers and social profiles the sites publish, including on their contact pages. People use it to fill in a list of partners or vendors without opening every site.
Real records from run uqvpG7MTCU9PYJDz8 (one row per contact found):
{"domain": "www.atlassian.com", "type": "email", "value": "press@atlassian.com", "http_status": 200}
{"domain": "www.atlassian.com", "type": "social", "value": "https://linkedin.com/company/atlassian"}Input: {"urls": ["https://www.atlassian.com"], "crawl_contact_pages": true, "max_pages_per_site": 3}. You only get what a site publishes, often a press or support address rather than a person. Follow anti-spam rules such as CAN-SPAM, CASL or GDPR if you contact anyone. Tool: Website Contact Scraper.
8. Chinese video trends (Bilibili)
Bilibili is one of China’s largest video platforms. Searching it by keyword shows how a brand or topic is discussed by Chinese viewers, which is useful to consumer-brand and market-research teams with no other window into that audience.
Real record from run obLOt7jhsI7yvfhvs (keyword 泡泡玛特, Pop Mart):
{
"bvid": "BV1uvao6tEvk",
"title": "泡泡玛特-跟踪",
"author": "一一德信",
"duration": "8:8",
"play_count": 219,
"likes": 2,
"tag": "公司分析,泡泡玛特,港股,名创优品,股市",
"pub_date": 1790903700
}Input: {"keyword": "泡泡玛特", "max_results": 50}. Three things to clean before you analyze. pub_date is a Unix timestamp. Durations are not zero-padded ("8:8" is 8 minutes 8 seconds). Results are sorted by relevance, not date, and can include videos that don’t mention the keyword. Tool: Bilibili Video Search.
9. Sales data for AI agents (MCP server)
If you are building an AI agent rather than a spreadsheet, the same kinds of data can be called as tools. The Sales Intelligence MCP server exposes ten tools covering lead finding, company enrichment, email discovery, tech-stack detection and funding tracking. It connects to Claude, Cursor, n8n or the OpenAI Agents SDK. It bills per tool call, and needs no API key beyond your Apify account. New to MCP? Our explainer What are MCP servers? covers the basics.
Running any of these on a schedule
Every tool above runs on Apify, so the same input can run daily or weekly. Open the tool, save your input as a task, then add a schedule. Results land in a dataset you can download, or send to a webhook, Google Sheets or your own database. Start with a small result cap while you check the output, then raise it. Each tool bills per result delivered, so a tight query keeps the cost small.
We cover AI agents, automation, and the tools that make them work. Our mission is to make AI accessible to everyone.
